Twilio has recently changed how their app (Twilio for Salesforce) is installed within Salesforce. If your organization has been using Twilio prior to 2022, your Twilio for Salesforce app may not be on the latest version. Please use the instructions below to check your current Twilio for Salesforce version and to upgrade to the latest version.
NOTE: Only a Salesforce User with a System Administrator Profile can view these settings or update the Twilio for Salesforce app.
Check Your Current Twilio for Salesforce Version
- Log into your organization's Salesforce instance.
- Click on the Setup cog to view Settings.
- Use the Quick Find search box to search and select for Installed Package or navigate to Apps - Packaging - Installed Packages.
- In the Installed Packages list, locate Twilio for Salesforce and look to the right for the Version Number column.
- Your version number will look similar to this: 4.XX.
Upgrade Twilio for Salesforce
- Go to the the Twilio for Salesforce installation website and click on the Install in Production button.
- On the next page, choose Install for All Users to install Twilio for Salesforce for all Users and click the Upgrade button.
- Only Users that have a Twilio License and Twilio Permissions have access to the App despite installing the all for all Users to access.

- Permission Sets Users Need to Access the COACH App - View the Twilio section to view the permission sets necessary to view and send Twilio messages.
- Only Users that have a Twilio License and Twilio Permissions have access to the App despite installing the all for all Users to access.
- You will see a page that says "Upgrading and granting access to all Users" after clicking the Upgrade button.
- You may see a page that says "This app is taking a long time to upgrade" but you will receive an email about the status of your upgrade if it was successful or not.
- After receiving an email with the confirmation that the Twilio for Salesforce upgrade has completed, you are done! Navigate to Setup and Installed Packages to confirm that the Twilio for Salesforce version is the most up to date.
- If your upgrade was not successful, forward the email you received to our Tech Support Team so that we can troubleshoot this for you and reinstall the upgrade.
