When sending text messages to customers that receive financial coaching through the COACH App, you may need to include website links in your messages. However, Twilio has updated their policy on acceptable URLs/web links that can be sent by text message due to wireless carriers cracking down on the amount of spam/phishing text messages.
Due to this, Twilio will block text messages from being sent if they contain shortened website links that use web address shorteners like Bitly, TinyURL, and others. An example of a shortened link may look like: shorturl.at/ilKL8.
To prevent your messages from being blocked, Twilio recommends sending the full web address in your text message to show that your link is not a spam link. The above short link's full address is: https://change-machine.org/events/.
